You've Spotted a Mistake?
If you think there's something wrong with this
site, I've missed an important piece of evidence or drawn incorrect
conclusions, then I'd love to hear from you. My aim on this site is to seperate
the fact from the fiction, and if I have labelled something as fiction which is
in reality a fact I would be more than happy to change it.
If you'd like to tell me that something on this
site is incorrect then please email me with the following information:
• Which page of the site you think contains an
error.
• Specifically, what you think the error is.
• What sources you can produce to show that I have
actually made an error.
When I ask for sources I am talking specifically
about proper primary evidence. I am well aware (for example) that there are
plenty of websites which claim Charlotte de Berry was real - if you want to
prove to me that she was then you need to send me a genuine primary source
which proves her existence. This website was set up to fight the idea that
anything you read on the web is reliable.
Most of the information on this site comes from
primary sources, or from secondary sources which quote their own primary
sources (I do use secondary sources, but I'm careful about which ones). Any
source which you send me needs to be a written transcript, scanned copy - or
weblink to either of those - of a document, picture or artefact which comes
from the period in question or a reasonable period either side, together with
information about where the original document, picture or artefact is OR
a quoted passage from a secondary source which quotes or cites its own primary
source, together with details of author, publisher, date, and ISBN number.
So, if you know of any real evidence which
contradicts anything I have said on this site please do email me.
